Zoloft is used to treat depression, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in adults. Zoloft is also used for treating obsessive-compulsive disorder in children (ages 6-12) and adolescents (ages 12-17). Zoloft tablets are usually prescribed for taking once daily, with or without food. The prescribed dosage should not be altered by the patient. Also, Zoloft pills should not be discontinued without the doctor’s advice, even if the patient feels better from the symptoms. The full effect of the drug may take a few weeks to appear. In case the patient misses a dose, he/she must not take 2 doses together or in close succession to make up for the missed dose. Possible Zoloft side effects include: allergic reactions (swelling of facial parts or tongue, hives, difficulty in swallowing and/or breathing), abnormal heartbeat or pulse, low or high blood pressure, chills, and fever. In case of any such side effects, it is advisable to stop taking Zoloft and see a doctor. Less serious Zoloft side effects include: headache, tremor, nervousness or anxiety, nausea, diarrhea, dry mouth, changes in appetite or weight, sleepiness or sleeplessness, decreased sex drive, impotence or difficulty having an orgasm and some other unusual effects. Zoloft is not recommended for use by people who have experienced or are having liver diseases, kidney problems, seizures, mania, and/suicidal thoughts. Such patients must consult their doctor about taking Zoloft. The same holds for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Zoloft pills should be stored at a temperature of 15° - 30°C (59° - 86°F). Patients can buy Zoloft online at any pharmacy store’s website. They can also buy generic Zoloft online.
