Propecia is a drug used for the treating male pattern hair loss on top of the head and middle front of the head. It is not effective in treating receding hairlines at the temples. Propecia is meant for men only and must not be used by women or children. Propecia comes as a tablet for oral use. Propecia tablets are taken once a day, with or without food. The pills must be taken according to the doctor’s prescribed dosage and instructions, and must not be discontinued without the doctor’s advice. Symptoms of Propecia overdose are not known but medical attention must be called in case of any unusual effects. Possible Propecia side effects that can be serious include allergic reactions (difficulty breathing and/or swallowing, swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, and/or hives). Emergency medical help must be called in such cases. Less serious effects may occur including decreased sex-drive and/or ejaculate, impotence, and breast tenderness or enlargement. Some other unusual effects may also occur. Before taking Propecia, patients must tell their doctor if they have liver disease. Women must not take Propecia in any case. Pregnant women should not even handle crushed or broken Propecia tablets since Propecia can absorb through skin. Propecia pills should be stored at a temperature range of 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) in a tightly closed container, away from moisture. Propecia is FDA approved for men’s use and more information can be obtained about Propecia online at the drug’s official site Propecia.com. Internet users can order Propecia online at several drugstores, some of which sell cheap Propecia for discount prices.
